New Show Added

Rachel & Matt @ Norb Andy's

It’s been over a month since Matt and I played a gig, and we were both starting to experience some withdrawal. Luckily we only have to wait a couple more weeks before our next show at Norb Andy’s Tabarin.

I’ve had many a dinner and drink at Norb’s, because my uncle owned it up until just a few years ago. It was recently reopened by new owners, and I’m looking forward to seeing it and playing on May 5. Guess we better get to practicing!

Three-Peat

Three-Peat

This weekend, my husband Zach and I are headed to Chicago for his 6th annual company sales banquet. We look forward to this every year, because not only is it an excuse to get away for a couple of days, but we also get to stay in a great hotel (The Sax) and celebrate all of his hard work.

This will actually be the 3rd time in a row (hence the title of this post) he’s received the top prize — Agent of the Year — along with the crazy ridiculous title of #1 agent in the entire midwest region for AAA insurance. Needless to say, it will be a big night for Zach and I get to be the proud wife :)

We’re hitting the road super early to meet up with his family, and hopefully also to do a little dress shopping. I’ve gotten into the habit of waiting until the last minute to pick out a new dress for these shindigs, mostly because the shopping is a whole lot better in Chicago than it is here. A weekend away filled with fun and celebration: it doesn’t get much better than that!

January 28, 2012

I got a new ukulele for Christmas, and I’m seriously in love. “Cute” is kinda my thing, and it doesn’t get much cuter than the uke! See, even Matt looks cute holding it! Haha, just kidding, Matt ;) I played my new uke for the first time in front of an audience last night, and [...]

Without a Trace

July 31, 2011

This summer I’ve had the awesome opportunity to sing with Ryan King, a talented guitarist who also plays in the Ramblin’ Blues Band. Little did I know that Ryan is also a songwriter; he wrote all the songs on his band’s CD, including this one. “Without a Trace” had me hooked the first time I [...]

I Want One!

March 7, 2011

When my technology-obsessed husband plopped down $600 last year for the iPad, I looked at him with raised eyebrows and asked if he really needed this new toy.  Sure, it was super cool and shiny, but what could it do that his iPhone and Macbook couldn’t? And now here I am, a little under a [...]
